What is "Select"?
Ready to take your game to the next level? Temecula Little League's Fall "Select" program is an exciting, competitive option for players looking to level up their baseball skills!
Part of Little League International's District Travel Ball (DTB) Program, Select offers a chance to play tougher competition, gain more experience, and grow in a fun, team-first environment — all while following Little League's rules and safety standards.
TLL Select Program Highlights
If your player is chosen for a Select team, it's an awesome bonus experience in addition to their regular fall season. Select teams are currently open for 10U, 11U, and 12U divisions, with activities running from October 1st through February 1st.
Here's what to expect:
- Extra Practice & Play: Select teams typically meet 1–2 additional times a week, including Sundays.
- Weekend Tournaments: Be prepared to travel! Past tournaments have taken us to Trabuco Canyon, San Bernardino, Hemet, San Diego, and beyond.
- Rec Commitment: Players must participate in at least 75% of their regular season games to stay eligible.
- Additional Fees: Select program fees are separate from regular season registration.
- Flexibility: Schedules can vary based on tournaments and coaches may organize extra games for even more play time.
Please note: Being part of a Select team is a great honor and not all will make a team, it also does not guarantee placement on an All-Star team in the Spring.
How to Join a Select Team
Think you've got what it takes? Here's how to get in the game:
- Register for the regular Fall season AND the Select season. You will be waitlisted for the select season until teams are formed.
- Participate in Select assessments (held during regular assessments).
- Players must assess in their league age division for Select, even if they're playing up in the regular season.
- Can't make the assessment? No problem — just email our Player Agent and Fall Committee to let us know you're still interested.
Coaching the Select Way
Select teams are all about developing high-level baseball knowledge and strategy in a positive, sportsmanlike environment. Coaches must demonstrate great leadership, respect, and a deep love of the game. All managers and assistant coaches will go through an interview and approval process by the TLL Board of Directors.
